All of my books star strong women facing difficult situations. I love being a woman. I love the sisterhood when it’s healthy. And I love supporting other women. One of the ways I do that is through my writing.
But what does it take to be a strong woman?
Determination?
Faith?
Thick skin?
You ever go to a bridal shower where all the older or married women are encouraged to write a bit of advice? Imagine if we could do that for ourselves. What would you tell your younger self?
I would tell the younger me, though I would find it hard to believe, that the people whose opinions matter so much won’t matter at all in a few short years.
I would tell her there’s only so much you can control. Focus on these things.
Perhaps most importantly, I would tell her to choose the women she allows in her circle wisely. And be a wise choice for someone else.
I have a very good friend whose family situation is much like mine. We understand one another.
She lets me vent without judgment.
She offers me compassion and grace when I utterly fail as a parent. I hope to God I give the same to her.
We laugh. A lot. And often at things we shouldn’t.
But the best part is we want each other to win. When she wins, I win. When I win, she cries happy tears. (She’s an emotional girl.❤️)
That’s what I want for my daughters.
That’s what I want for all of us.
The great thing is, we can commit to this right now.
At the very least, we can commit to NOT dragging other women down.
If you could have been the strong woman standing behind young you, what would you tell her?
Sending all of you mad, mad love.❤️

Last week I told you Book Four of my Sage Ridge series was finally rolling. Well, now the characters from Book Five want in on the action. Instead of arguing, I’m just taking it as it comes. This is new for me, trying to write two at once!
Next week, I’ll introduce you to the characters for Book Four. Maybe I’ll even slip in an excerpt.
And, guess what!
Amazon Australia granted me a Kindle Deal for the entire month of October for A Lifetime Of Afters! If you’re an Aussie and would like to help me spread the word on your social accounts, please holler and I’ll send you a graphic!
And last, I’m about to dive into Melanie Moreland’s latest, My Favorite Boss. I loved My Favorite Kidnapper so I am very much looking forward to this!
