Story: A place you can utterly lose yourself and find yourself in equal measure.
That's the magic of books.
17,937 words in is a great place to be!
At this point, I’m beginning to understand my characters: how they feel, what makes them tick, their deepest fears, and their greatest motivating factors.
The story is not a complete mystery. I know the tropes, mostly, going in. I know their back stories.
But when it starts to play out in my head like a movie?
And spills out onto the page?
To me, that is magic.
There’s nothing better than getting lost in a story.
I’ve always been an avid reader. even at the tender age of 5, I snuck flashlights up to my room at bedtime and read under my covers.
I thought I was so clever.
My mom says I was lit up like a snow globe.
When I was a teenager, I dabbled in a bit of writing. Later on, in my twenties, I wrote a few children’s books. But it wasn’t until I was 48 that I wrote my first novel.
I got lost between those pages and found pieces of myself.
To lose yourself in something only to find yourself.
If that’s not magic, I don’t know what is.
News!
Amazon Australia granted me a $1.49 Kindle Deal for the month of October for A Lifetime Of Afters so I’ve dropped the price everywhere I can in hopes Amazon will price match in Canada and the US.
You can find A Lifetime Of Afters for $1.49 at www.books2read.com/a-lifetime-of-afters .
And if you’re a dedicated book girl, I would not complain even a little bit if you pass it on and tell all your friends.❤️
That’s it for now, and remember:
Live Messy, Love Madly❤️
