I'm always quiet the week after a release. Sometimes that quiet period lasts a little longer.
It's not due to lack of interest and it certainly isn't a lack of gratitude to all my beloved readers, my hype team, and my arc readers who support my books, (Thank you!) but a collision of emotions including pride, relief, and the tiniest bit of grief at saying goodbye to characters I've fallen in love with.
There's also the delicate balance between waiting for feedback and avoiding reading too many reviews.
Add in fatigue and adrenaline drop and you've got the perfect fixings for a runaway reclusive author!
But this morning, sitting out on my back patio, I get a chance to breathe.
And appreciate everything I have and everything I get to do, including pursuing writing full time though l'm nowhere near full-time earnings.
That's on my husband.
The Muse.
The inspiration behind the happily ever afters.
He puts up with my moods, laughs when I get too feisty, and builds the dream with me day in, day out.
Even on those davs where it stands perilously close to a nightmare!
So, thank you to everyone who welcomed The Locksmith's Promise into the world.
As per my first (that I know of!) 1⭐ review, it's not for everyone.
If you want your heroes unflawed, look the other way.
If you love your heroines perfect and strong all the time, keep scrolling.
And if you need your romance reads to unwrap like a pretty package with a big, shiny bow, look elsewhere.
But if you want real, raw, and messy, with hard won happily ever afters, you might want to stay awhile.
Get comfortable.
Tuck a few tissues up your sleeve.
And dive in.
Now, I get the privilege of supporting a fellow author!
